Hong Kong

So we made it to Hong Kong last night arriving at the hotel around 11pm local time (3am NZ).
We were very lucky to get on board as it was a full flight.

However also arriving in the area is a typhoon, bringing with it wind and rain which put paid to our plan to take the cable car up to the Peak, as it is closed due to the weather. We considered going up in the tram but there was a 30 minute queue and no view anyway as its completely shrouded in cloud.

So we’ve had a fun day mastering the MRT metro system using a tourist day pass, $55HK each (NZ$9.50) for 24 hours) and wandering around the Botanical gardens under our umbrellas. Had a quick look at the shopping mall Pacific Place, at least it was dry!
Temperature is around 31° today, quite nice actually.

Right now I am sitting in a trendy salon on Hennessy St waiting for Alan to get his hair cut. It’s certainly short!

About khodges2013

Alan and I divide our time between our apartment in Christchurch, New Zealand, and our 11.5m Dutch Cruiser, Silver Fern, on the canals in France. We started out hiring and eventually bought our boat in 2014. The two summers lifestyle is wonderful and we feel very lucky!
