Friday 23rd August
Dole is an amazing little town and one will definitely be coming back to. We were lucky enough that the pub across the road from our Hotel had an incredible duet playing.
These guys were both very talented and really funny. They played jazz and blues, playing up to the crowd, and the area was packed,
Across the road from that pub there was a festival on with everyone bringing picnics and local artistisan food and wine producers stalls and more music from 2 different areas. It was a very warm evening and we really enjoyed ourselves.
The next morning we had un cafe et un croissant before heading north west to Auxxerre. The road trip was beautiful, another 31° day, and we stopped a couple of times to check out the gorgeous villages along the way.
We have now arrived in Auxerre and will be having a wee nana nap before going out when the heat has died down a little.
By the way for any readers who are interested in the state of my bed bug drama I will now display a visual image of how things are progressing. Small children and those with a nervous disposition should now look away…
That is just my right leg. Alan won’t let me put anything more graphic on here š£ but there’s plenty more where that came from. If I stay out of the heat and sun, and don’t put any weight on my legs then its bearable. Bit of a shame we are tourists in the middle of summer. Bloody Italian Night train. I’d sue if I only knew how š
Damn ghastly bugs!
Nothing for it but a nice lounger in the shade with your feet up admiring the beautiful scenery š
