This is what you get after a small snafu with a fellow boater. Thanks Yves!

This is the view from our church park bench which is the highest point we could find in Cuisery. It’s a beautiful day. We left La Truchére this morning and arrived at the little port here around 2pm after having to search for a lock keeper to open the lock for us. Bit of a surly dude so no conversation and he opened the gates right open so the lock was a bit choppy for a few minutes.

This little town is famous for its streets of second hand books. It certainly isn’t busy. I think we are the only tourists in town. It’s time for the kids pickup at the school next door to the church and someone was at piano practice for a while. Now it’s just quiet, lots of birdsong and now and then the church bell rings. 

We are on a mission to find some diesel. There is none at the mooring area so be might try to buy a container and fill it up. We’ve just hit the red on the gauge. Just a guideline, right? In Pont de Vaux the tank is situated whee the water is it’s shallowest so we didn’t pick any up there. We’ll see how we go.

The end of the navigable part of the Seille River, which is one of the most beautiful rivers in all of France apparently, is Louhans. I think we may stay here 2 nights as it’s so peaceful.
