I thought now would be a good time to add in some more photos while our Orange Dongal-thingy has a good signal…
its over 30° today and thank goodness the wind has starting blowing as it was way too hot otherwise. We would have needed to hang out at the supermarket otherwise.
We took down our canvas coverings as we thought they may be too high for some of the bridges here plus they are very tatty and have mould growing on them. So we don’t have a lot of shade at the moment other than the trees on the banks. We think we’ll get a simple Bimini made that can go up or down easily rather than what we have at the moment which can be cumbersome.
The only other thing is the fridge which wasn’t working properly and is now not keeping the food cold at all. Might be due to the high temperatures but I’m a little worried about our food becoming unsafe to eat. I’ll let you know!
Today is Pentecostal Sunday and tomorrow is a public holiday. Also tomorrow is the much anticipated (by me) livestock market in town. Very excited about that! Hoping to get some good pics. Also we are looking for a trolley with big wheels so that we can fill our fuel container and have something to wheel it back from the garage with. We walked a million miles in the noon day sun to the Bricomarche yesterday so now have one fuel container (they only had one). Not having any means of land transport is good for exercise!
The wind is really picking in now. The washing will be dry. Having the washing machine on board has been great as long as we have access to water to fill up after. Apparently we have tanks for water totalling 750litres which should be plenty for normal usage and then we will only do washing when we can fill them back up.
Our fuel tank is apparently 850litres. We can’t verify that though so need to be careful. With the help from our friendly neighbours Roger and Caroline we were able to get 50litres in the tank on Friday so we should be fine until Tournus which is up the Saone. We could really do with a trolley though.
Think it’s time for a siesta. Temperatures well over 30 now and our boats in the full sun at this time of day. Hope you enjoy the pics.
