There is a restaurant we have heard great things about here in St Jean de Losne and today we had the opportunity to try le dejeuner (lunch) with some new friends on our pontoon.
For 13€ Madam offers a choice of two entrees and two mains followed by a large selection of cheeses and then a choice of five desserts. All accompanied by wine and to finish, un cafe. Everything was very tasty, the service was excellent and the price very agreeable!
What happened next was in no way caused by the wine. No, not at all.
Heading back home on my bike I turned to see Alan in the path of an oncoming car. I quickly tried to turn around, forgot my back brakes aren’t attached at the moment and drove my bike into the kerb and a cement plant holder. Ouch. I now have a rather ugly stone rash on my knee, two sore thumb joints and associated bruises.
By the way Alan was fine although he did get a barrelling from the lady driving the car he drove out in front of.
Note to self…maybe riding our bikes home from a long lunch isn’t such a clever idea after all!
