Here’s a few pics from our trip to the Joigny Marché last week…

Joigny’s inside market hall.
I

Veges looked amazing. I love the artistic flair you see in French markets.

Hmmmm. This Gorgonzola looked like it could walk out of the fromage stand on its own.

We bought one of these. Kind of like cream cheese. Nice in a baguette with some jambon!

This one was so pretty I had to take its picture

Tempting

Also pretty. And smelt of the ocean. Not fishy at all.

This guy was very proud of his olives. And rightly so.

At the honey stand. What is this??

The horse meat stand. Still popular.

This guy was hilarious. Chicken for dinner. The firemen behind us in the queue bought five!
This was an exceptional market. I think it’s only once a month so we were lucky. Outside there were rows and rows of clothing, leather goods (I bought a new purse), shoes. You name it. And it was packed. Last time we came to Joigny we read that the town was ‘dying’ due to the army base having been closed down. But the place was humming during our two night stay. Definitely worth a visit.

About khodges2013
Alan and I divide our time between our apartment in Christchurch, New Zealand, and our 11.5m Dutch Cruiser, Silver Fern, on the canals in France. We started out hiring and eventually bought our boat in 2014. The two summers lifestyle is wonderful and we feel very lucky!
Yummm – how do you choose??!!

Exactly. After the €42 a kilo fromage we bought at the last marché we went to, we are trying to show some restraint!
