Correction to previous post regarding the Commonwealth war graves on Le Bussiére

In my last post I mentioned the Commonwealth War Grave we visited in La Bussiére. The information I had was that the aircraft shot down was a Lancaster Bomber but was in fact a Sterling bomber.

If you are interested in reading about what happened that day here is a link to the full story.

About khodges2013

Alan and I divide our time between our apartment in Christchurch, New Zealand, and our 11.5m Dutch Cruiser, Silver Fern, on the canals in France. We started out hiring and eventually bought our boat in 2014. The two summers lifestyle is wonderful and we feel very lucky!

Thanks Karen, really interesting. I knew a relative who completed a tour on the Sterling, it was a terrible aircraft. He later flew another tour on the Lancaster. Survived the war and was fascinating to talk too.
