Home again! We’ve been back in New Zealand a few weeks now and the weather is starting to look more like spring after some quite wintery temperatures. Personally I love the coolness and we are enjoying all that the Garden City has to offer with walks around the Botanical Gardens and through Hagley Park.
The Christchurch Rebuild projects are coming along and we are loving all the new eateries and laneways and bars that have filled the city centre. There is still a way to go yet though, even after seven years since the very first earthquake hit. Our apartment building has not had the repairs done yet. Hopefully next year. Maybe? Can’t rush these things!
The trip home was long but not bad considering. Can’t complain 🙂 Love Singapore Airlines.
So let’s look at this year’s adventures. We travelled to Paris and back on the Champagne canal (amazing) and the Marne river (stunning) but the highlight has to be our cruise up the Seine and into the marina at the Arsenal, smack bang in the middle of the City of Lights. Gorgeous Paris. A week on our boat cost less than €50 a night, a complete bargain and we made the most of it. Cruising on our boat past the Eiffel Tower was so much fun and a bucket list moment.
So next year? We’ll be heading back to good old Silverfern sometime in the Northern spring and on to adventures as yet unknown. Looking forward to it already!
Thanks for the wonderful journey guys. Thoroughly enjoyed every posting and photograph. I look forward to catching up. Take care.
Cheers
